Daily Maintenance and Care for Chassis Dynamometers

Proper daily maintenance and care are critical to ensuring the stable operation, accurate measurement, and extended service life of chassis dynamometers. Below are the key maintenance items categorized by frequency:

1. Daily Maintenance

• Check the rollers: Inspect if there is any sediment, water, or other debris stuck on the rollers every day. If debris is present, clean it thoroughly to prevent injury from flying objects during measurement.
• Inspect the oil-water separator: Verify that the air pressure of the oil-water separator is within the normal range daily. If there is an abnormality, adjust the pressure to meet standard requirements. Also, check for oil or air leaks; if leaks are found, tighten the components or replace damaged parts promptly.
• Drain water from the oil-water separator: Check the water accumulation in the water cup of the oil-water separator daily. If the water level is too high, drain it in a timely manner to avoid affecting the separator’s performance.
• Examine the coupling: Inspect the dynamometer’s coupling for deformation or damage every day. If any abnormalities are detected, handle the issue or replace the coupling immediately.

2. Weekly Maintenance

• Tighten bolts and inspect sensors: Check if all bolts are loose weekly, including the fastening bolts and brackets of the speed sensor. Examine if the connecting flexible shaft is deformed or broken. Also, check the connecting bolts of the force sensor and the spherical plain bearings for looseness; tighten them if necessary. Additionally, if the connecting shaft of the speed sensor is deformed, verify whether there is an issue with its concentricity with the rollers.
• Lubricate bearing housings: Apply lithium-based grease to the bearing housings weekly to ensure smooth operation of the bearing components.

3. Monthly Maintenance

• Inspect rubber couplings: Check the rubber couplings for deformation or damage monthly. If severe deformation or damage is found, replace them promptly to avoid affecting power transmission.
• Tighten anchor bolts: Verify if the nuts on the anchor bolts are loose; tighten them if there is any looseness to ensure the dynamometer’s stable installation.

4. Annual Maintenance

• Comprehensive inspection: Conduct a full inspection of the chassis dynamometer annually, covering the oil-water separator, all bolts, and other key components.
• Bearing assembly maintenance: Perform thorough maintenance on the bearing assemblies, including adding new grease, replacing oil seal felt rings, and checking for any damaged parts. Report and replace worn or damaged components in a timely manner.
